    Combating Physical Stress
Although you may not believe it, feeling bodily apprehension is, as a rule, often the proof of emotional or psychological tension. Physical stress can manifest due to a number of different problems. Maybe you have caused yourself an injury or are on the verge of doing so. You might have contracted a disease or illness. Or maybe you have too much on your plate and haven't learned to manage your mental or emotional stress and it's appearing as physical symptoms. The good news is that physical stress is not something you need to endure. This article will offer some methods for you to relieve physical stress.

Your symptoms could be quite obvious like jaw pains from clenching your teeth all the time to a lancing pain in your gut or less clear like muscle pains and flu-like symptoms. Below we will discuss some strategies to help you cope with your symptoms.

Muscle relaxation. There is a technique called Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR) that you can use to relax your body when everything feels tense and achy. You tense up a group of your muscles so that they are as tightly constricted as you can make them.

Keep your muscles in the contracted position for around three seconds. Next, loosen them up until you are totally relaxed. This not only helps your muscles feel better, it sends the message to your brain that you are in control of your own body.

Many people's first response to pain is to reach for a bottle of Advil or Tylenol. Be careful with this. Advil and Tylenol might solve your pain problems quickly but they can be bad for your stomach. This could actually make your physical symptoms worse. Stress can cause issues in your stomach lining, leading to the development of ulcers and other problems. Pain relievers, like Advil, could aggravate the issue. Be very cautious! After taking a pain reliever, if things get worse or you have any doubts, call your doctor up for an exam.

Get someone to give you a massage. Getting a professional body massage can be an excellent way to alleviate physical as well as psychological stress. A masseuse will physically work your muscles until your whole body is soft and relaxed and sometimes that's all you need to feel better and remove emotional tension. Most people claim to feel a lot better both physically and emotionally after fort five minutes of being massaged. You can always get a shoulder rub from someone you love or care about, if your budget doesn't allow for a professional.

You can have a relaxed body and have an enjoyable afternoon with a friend, too. It's a great option. There are all sorts of ways to cope with the physical manifestations of stress. You can try stretching and breathing and, of course, seeking professional help and guidance. Simply put, when you know what is causing your stress, you will know how to get rid of it. Sometimes it is as easy as a sickness finally show up. You probably can cure it with a little medication. Other times it takes more time and exploration to get down to the bottom of your physical stress so that you can fix it. You can do it.
